Runescape was founded in 1998 as an idea by two brothers. Their names are: Paul Gower and Andrew Gower. And then in the year 2001, the game then became run by Jagex Limited. Then, in 2004, Runescape became the game it is today. People keep joining all the time! so it is a fun game if 200,000 people come on at the same time!
